Summer Happy Friday

Summer Fun Contest Daily!

Checking In = 10 Points a Day!

Directions: You can post to your Google Classroom group without responding to an assignment, question or announcement. You can just post something to the group. Each day that you post that you are alive, a little about your plan for the day, or what you did on a particular day, you earn ten (10) "Summer Fun Contest" points. Just saying "Hi, or Wuz up" doesn't count; you need to be a bit more wordy. If you positively respond to someone else's post, you can earn an additional five (5) "Summer Fun Contest" points. If there are a lot of people posting and you respond to several people the points can really add up.

NOTE! You will see an announcement about this daily activity in Google Classroom. An anouncement is not exactly an assignment, yet has "10 Points a Day" next to the title. I, the teacher and group advisor, have very limited options about how I post to your group. There's a new chat option coming soon. Until then, you posting to your Google Classroom group every day is pretty straight forward. So, I look forward to hearing from you.

The CMMS Garden Needs You!

The CMMS Garden Club Earns You

Summer Fun Contest Points!

That's right! If you can donate some time to the Christa McAuliffe Middle School Garden, you can earn 100 "Summer Fun Contest" points for every hour you positively spend tilling the Earth with Mrs. Reavill. There are two ways to contact Mrs. Reavill. First, take a moment to join the Garden Club's Google Classroom group. The code is posted in your Google Classroom group. The other way to contact Mrs. Reavill is via email at sreavill@lodiusd.net

NOTE! Just before school got out for summer, Mrs. Reavill said she'd probably be watering on Mondays. Since temperatures are over 100 degrees, I'd venture a guess that Mrs. Reavill might be in the garden in the two or three days a week. Again, the best way to know for sure is to join the Garden Club or contact Mrs. Reavill directly.

One thing is for sure, the CMMS Garden would love to have some help so that this fall we will have a bountiful harvest.

Where Did It Go?

Yes, indeed the Christa McAuliffe Home Page has been revamped. Please take a look at the left-hand Navigation. There are some new additions. The McAuliffe Archive has many of our old favorites as well as stories that will return to our Home Page when they are needed.  The webmaster thinks it's time that we identify some special groups and places at our school; each of these has a new page totally devoted to them. A few others will be coming soon. The PTSA section has also been updated and now has it's own Archive. The entire Christa McAuliffe family is welcome to join in the fun of contributing to our website. If interested, please contact Mrs. Snider.

Sharon Christa Corrigan McAuliffe was a teacher from New Hampshire who was selected from among more than 11,000 applicants to be the first teacher in space. She died in 1986 in the Space Shuttle Challenger disaster.
